Oh no, Ruth, I am so very sorry. First of all, could you’ll me whether you are using the browser Firefox – we have had a very small number of people with issues when they use Firefox.
I will look out for your reply here on Frugal.

Oh no, Darby. I’m so very sorry. I would be devastated if you couldn’t ever comment on the new blog. Rest assured I will post on this Frugal blog letting you know that Iv’e posted on the other new blog. And we have taken many issues back to Jetpack. Jetpack btw, is the IT arm of WordPress – the platform I use for this bog. Honestly it’s all mind-boggling really. And I couldn’t manage without my other half. However, I must say I have been very disappointed with how tricky setting this new blog up has been, as when I set up My Other Blog – we had no problems whatsoever!!!
Anyway, can you tell me i) did you get the email from Jetpack? Actually it doesn’t say it’s from Jetpack, it should say it’s from Conversations… and ii) what browser are you using? We have had a small number of people who use Firefox saying they have had some difficulties and issues. There are other browsers like Safari that work perfectly with the new blog.
I will keep an eye out for out for your emails on here – let me know first of all, if you are using Firefox
I got the notice about the new blog. wrote a post, expressed my love for Elizabeth Strout, also mentioned Anne Tyler and Elizabeth Berg as as authors in the same genre, at least to me. I am fan of good crime novels, talked about Louise Penny, a favorite who cancelled the debut of her latest to the Kennedy Center after Trump’s takeover. there is more but was unable to post. there was no where where it asked for my name or email, so I was suspicious. just got the word forbidden. no mention of Jetpack. I do not have firefox or safari. email was from conversations.
Good to hear the email worked. As for the commenting I feel so awful that it’s not working for you. We will do our utmost to resolve this. I will keep in touch, Darby, promise. Wishing you all the very best X

Darby – we think we might have solved this. Oh my goodness I do hope so. My Other Half thinks it was setting which he has changed. Well we can only hope. We have no idea why setting up a blog has become so much more complicated but things change and it was 12 years ago when I started this blog and the Other Blog was in 2016, I think, so probably there are new settings and what I call stuff (that Bill knows more about) that has to be done.
OK, for the next blog I think write just a very small comment – no more than a couple of sentences so your efforts are not wasted if it goes wrong.
And may I comment on your comment. So glad to know you too love Sprout, the series of books on those characters is just wonderful, and I see Tyler has just published a new book. Must have a look at it. Ah yes, the extraordinary happenings…. awful. I see posts on Facebook (I shouldn’t I know) but I see posts about the resistance. It is important that we in Europe sees that not everyone believes in Trump. Anyway wont’ say any more about that for now – but I will at some point soon.

Penny, do I HAVE to sign up to be able to comment on your new blog? I’ve always shied away from doing so on the couple of other blogs I keep up with and have had no problems when commenting, but I lost my comment ‘over there’ because I couldn’t find a Send button, presumably because I’d not signed up. I don’t mean to be difficult, it’s just that I’ve found that when/if a blog is hacked (shock horror), everyone’s details are put at risk as happened recently to a close friend. Fortunately, I spotted and deleted the resulting message the baddies sent me purporting to be from her but you can maybe see my reluctance to join the club, as it were.
But, your system is your system and that’s fair enough: no criticism intended at all. It’s just that I may be maintaining radio silence from now on! It won’t mean that I’ll stop reading your new blog and reading all the interesting comments from your regulars – ladies I now count as distant friends. As I do you too! I’m prattling on about this because I’d hate you to think I’d just stopped bothering – if you happened to notice😉
Every good luck with your new venture. Who knows? I may cave in and sign up if the urge to add my fourpennyworth overrides my concerns!

I have just replied directly to your email. I can see you commented on the new blog – and I replied! If you haven’t signed up – that means you can comment !! You just won’t know exactly when I have posted the blog – that’s all.
Btw, if you are a signed up Frugalfashionshopper subscriber, which I think you are, there is no difference as it’s the same system.
