Hi everyone
This post is a bit late, apologies, but I have been very busy. And hey, do you notice something about this post – the typeface is darker and, yay, we’ve changed the theme and we are, we think (and we hope) over the IT problems that have bothered us for many weeks now. I also hope the darker type is easier to read – so important!
How’s the weather with you? Here in the UK it’s been unseasonably warm for days if not weeks, so much so that when my good friend Lisa came round to try on hats I wore a thin dress – in late October!
I rather like that hat, but most of my winter coats are dark. I’ll have to look for a camel coloured coat or even a brown one. I did have a camel hair coat (charity shop of course) but it went in one of my throw-out phases. I sometimes think I get rid of far too much! Imho you can never have too many coats!
Also in my little patch of a garden the lobelia is still flowering.
That small shrub with the yellow berries is a Pyracanthus and it’ll grow like topsy to over 6′. This entire area is a work in progress so it looks a bit scrubby at the moment but I have plans and it will look completely different by next summer. But see a foxglove is still flowering.
It’s bizarre.
Actually it is getting a bit cooler. Now, while all this warm weather has been welcome, what with the increase in the price of our energy bills and the fact that we are not having to put any heating on, I’m personally glad to feel a cold wind on my face and see the temperatures dropping. And to celebrate that cooler weather I have bought two new charity shop coats.
I’ll show you one now.
This is a Zara coat and it is thin and unlined, so it is just right to wear at the cusp of cooler weather. I like the long length.
I think I’ve got my London mojo back! Yes, I wore this outfit up to London – more about that trip in my end of the month November review.
And these are the accessories. The hat was bought new from Galeries Lafayette in Toulouse, the necklace was bought from the V&A shop some years ago. Bracelet and ring were charity shopped.
And here is a closer look at my new bootees, which went well I think with the skirt 🙂
The bootees were bought from Schuropody and are sooooo comfortable.
That’s all for now. With love, Penny, the Frugalfashionshopper
This look is fabulous! I adore the coat and that hat is the icing on the cake. Love the pop of color with the skirt!

Thank you is much Katherine – it was a nice outfit for London!
Love this London Mojo outfit! All the pieces and colors came together beautifully. Your boots + skirt + necklace are amazing together.
Thank you – this time it really worked well! I do like dress up for London!
Those booties are really cool! Love the details on them. One cannot have to many coats: even here in the south, there are occasion for all kinds of coats, light and heavier ones so I have quite a few. It was so cold this morning, I had both a coat and a warm scarf. And I do love your new hat! The shape is very becoming!

Thank you so much Mireille. Oh I so agree you can never have enough coats, as different coats go with different occasions.
Beautiful booties, they will look good under many of your skirts! Still love that one too!
The boots are amazing and so glad I found them as I was about to buy a really boring pair of boots!
Those two skirts are the best – thanks Nancy 🙂
I love your coat and the hat is fabulous! Accessories make outfits stand out!
Rosemary Davis
Thank you so much Rosemary – this time I really thought it through. It is so good to dress up!
I love the boots, Penny! Just looked at them on the website. Also, the skirt – lovely! Where did you buy that one?
Great to have you back Penny and blog up and running. Alison x
Thanks Alison x
It is awful when you think you have lost ‘stuff’ online.
We arty people need pencil and paper.
The boots are sooooo lovely.
Ro,x
Ah yes, those boots, I nearly bought a very boring pair of boots and then saw these. So glad I bought them!
Thanks Rosemary 🙂
You are so right, never have enough coats. There is such a long season for them here, and I like a bit of a change up. Happy to be back on your list of followers, such a pain for both of you.
So glad you agree that one can never have enough coats. I wear them according to the outfit I’ve got on and the weather, also my mood.
And thanks yes, it was such a pain but sorted now we think!
Great to see you back, Penny. Love the boots.
Jill
Thank you, Jill, the boots are a great find and quite quirky too!
I received your “test”, Penny! Yes, times are busy. Fact is, I’m in a bit of a health trial with my husband and we are out of town. Thank goodness for family and friends!
Love the photos. The boots look comfortable. I’m going to check them out!
Here’s an American Happy Thanksgiving to you and Mr. F!
Charlene
Here’s hoping your husband gets better and as always so glad your family is beside you. And I’m wishing you a very Happy Thanksgiving to you too 🙂
I am so glad the “test” email went through. That’s a terrible feeling and it can be so frustrating. I always cower at the updates, because that’s when things tend to go wrong.
I’m in love with that necklace Penny. In fact, the skirt and hat are calling my name, haha.
XOXO

Yes, the ‘theme’ needed updating and look what happened!!!
Thanks so much Jodie – the skirt was expensive at the time, but I’ve worn it so many times, especially up to London.
Happy Thanksgiving to you 🙂
Lovely boots Penny. Agree about coats really depends on how cold it is xx
I did receive the test (and I definitely remember those “This is only a test” bulletins). I love that new coat, and of course, I love the boots! They look both fashionable and comfortable! You’ve definitely gotten your London mojo back! Oh, how I hope to make it back there some day! It would be lovely to meet up with my UK friends!

Connecting from your test post Penny , hope those gremlins are now sorted. How lucky you are to have a tech savvy husband.
So glad you have your style mojo back , I knew you would. The red hat is so good on you , not sure about the camel one though. The boots are great , stylish and comfort too.
What cute hats and outfits you have! Thanks for joining Ageless Style this month!
I just realized I missed so many of your posts! My blog reader had a glitch apparently.
I totally love outfit you wore to London! The red Fedora with black jacket and the multicolored skirt is fabulous. Even a bit of similar color on your black shoes. Beautiful! And I’m always happy to see your garden.
