The very late November review 2021

Hi everyone and apologies again as life and events got in the way, it’s good to be busy but I do miss my writing and blogging time, so here goes! It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas chez Frugalfashionshopper.

    Two Second-hand September buys

Hi everyone Three cheers! I managed to get through September without buying any new clothes, which was so good as, really, over the last few month I have bought far too many new clothes, all online, of course. Some were

Secondhand September? Maybe it’s more of a case of shopping my closet!

    Featured Oct 2020

Hello again! Well, I went ahead, got down my Autumn/Fall clothes, put away my flimsiest Summer frocks and skirts, and all of that just in time for some warmer weather over the next few days! Not to worry, I think

I have very few shoes but I forgot to say I have 27 hats!

Hello again And a big thank you to all of you who commented on my last post, which seemed to generate quite a lot of interest.  Btw, I miscounted. I have 12 pairs of shoes rather than 11! So, having

The blessings of friendship – and cold weather!

Hello I do like winter weather. Well, I qualify that, as we’re just at the beginning of winter and we’ve not had weeks of that grey damp (gets in your bones) weather that we have here in the UK. Today

    Some bargains found!

    Some bargains found!

Hello everyone There’s been a bit of an absence here.  It was just a busy, sociable, meeting friends kind of week, plus I posted on My Other Blog. Stuff (otherwise known as Brexit) is happening, or not happening, people, so

    Hatwalk 29 – April 2018

Another post on wearing hats around town. I know some of you say that you can’t wear hats but I think everyone can (especially when it’s the winter!) and the way to start with hat wearing is with a beret,

Shopping in a charity shop – here’s how!

Hmm, just read an article on going beyond Black Friday and caring for your clothes to prevent waste and the excessive buying that is the pattern for the next few weeks.  And for those over the pond, did you realise

    Hatwalk 23 – May 2017

I notice that some Stateside bloggers are already talking about wearing warm weather clothes and featuring sleeveless tops.  Wow!  That’s so not the case here!  We do have days when it’s sunny and there’s a blue sky, but even though

I’ve talked about de-cluttering a lot lately.  Most of you know I’ll be moving soon to a small 2-bedroomed flat (or apartment as you might call it). I’ve been really good at sifting through so many things and not just

    About Me

My name is Penny, I am 78 years old and I live in Lewes, East Sussex. My reasons for writing a fashion blog is that I have built up a great wardrobe on very little money mainly because I buy from charity shops.

So my blog will feature the clothes I have found since I retired, and the clothes that I continue to find in my local charity shops. From time to time I will also comment on issues around women and ageing.
