Hello again<\/p>\n

We have been a little bit more adventurous. You have to live and enjoy life so we visited our daughter on Sunday, and next Sunday we will be going to friends for a Sunday lunch. That will be quite daring for us and, gosh, am I looking forward to eating something that hasn’t been cooked by me! Don’t you just long to wander into a pub\/restaurant\/cafe for a meal without wondering if it would kill you! Apologies, if that sounds a bit over dramatic, especially as the news is that, overall, deaths are coming down, but I can see cases are rising where I live, and I wonder where this will go. I’m telling you I’m watching those local stats with a very beady eye!<\/p>\n

But what’s the weather like where you are? I see it’s incredibly hot in the States, Caribbean and parts of Europe. I heard on the radio an American saying that while they have 3 months of summer you Brits have only 6 weeks. Well, not exactly. What we have is, a few days of hot weather, then it rains, or gets cloudy and grey. It could still be warm, or not. The thick pink cotton jacket featured in the last post was worn for several days when it was cool and breezy. And then it’ll get hot again.<\/p>\n

So, as a nation in the summer we don’t live \u00a0in our shorts all the time, instead we have to mix it up with our clothes, and if any of us are going on a summer staycation in the UK, believe me, you take clothes for every type of weather!<\/p>\n

Here’s what I’ve been wearing over the last few days. \u00a0This was an outfit for a hot day!<\/p>\n

And what’s more they are both charity shop items – yay! The blue blouse was bought years ago and was worn for our first cruise in 2012. Thereafter, I kept it solely for cruises, but as this years cruise is cancelled I thought why not wear it. The blouse is really cool to wear in our hot and slightly (because it’s not like Singapore) humid weather.<\/p>\n

Then there’s this one. I have an image of myself, as someone who wears edgy clothes, but the reality, especially now, is that I’ve been wearing my jeans a lot. This outfit below was me trying to not wear the jeans, but, instead I think I look a bit casual and crumpled!<\/p>\n

The outfit has one charity shop item, the jacket, plus the new Mango paper-bag trousers teamed with a black tee. It was another cool, breezy day so I was hanging on to my hat, which, btw, was bought in Flam, Norway.<\/p>\n

Then finally, on Sunday I wore a dress to my daughter’s, but what a mistake as it rained and we had to go inside (yikes) and what with the windows that were wide open, and the cold wind that blew into their sitting-room, I absolutely froze.<\/p>\n

As soon as we got back to the flat I changed into these charity shop skinnies, plus two long sleeved tops, and had some hot soup to warm up! \u00a0This is summer in the UK!<\/p>\n

You can just see a newspaper in the above photo. Below is one of those photos you take by mistake, but we had a lovely lazy afternoon reading a proper newspaper given to us by our daughter.<\/p>\n

We read a newspaper every day but it’s been digitally on our iPad, as we took the decision in March to stop going into shops. It was such joy to touch and read a real newspaper. \u00a0Also you can see the weights out ready for me to use. \u00a0I’ve reduced the bulge on my tum a bit, yet put on a pound – think that might be muscle as I can see my upper arms beginning to get some definition.<\/p>\n
