Hello again!<\/p>\n

I don’t know about you, but I couldn’t live a quiet life in the country. \u00a0I tried it once. No, it’s not where I like living! \u00a0More than anything else what bothered me was the getting into a car for everything<\/em>. \u00a0I like the \u00a0proximity of the city and taking the bus to do this and that. I also want to be near a really big city like London for the buzz and the exhibitions.<\/p>\n

But before I tell you about the exhibition we went to last weekend, here are couple more pics of Tricia’s book launch taken by the official photographer.<\/p>\n

Not an old bag! \u00a0Ha, ha! Well. I am the age I am. \u00a0For instance, just look at those old-lady hands. \u00a0But what to do? \u00a0Wear gloves? \u00a0Hell, no, I wear bright nail varnish – see below!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The following day we went to The Photographer’s Gallery for Instant Stories: Wim Wenders Polaroids. \u00a0I was really blown away by them, and the whole concept. Around two rooms were all these tiny polaroids that you had to look at closely to get any sense of what was what. In fact, my other half found them quite difficult to see as the light was dim (to protect the photographs) and yes, they were so small. \u00a0But I like working hard to understand what’s in the mind’s eye of an artist. \u00a0I don’t want it on a plate. \u00a0I don’t want it easy.<\/p>\n

You had to really look.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

And the thing is why were these polaroids even considered art, or artistic, or whatever? It made you think. I mean there was something about these tiny polaroids, that got to you. They were spare and minimal. And I loved that thing of having to peer closer and closer. \u00a0What was he seeing? \u00a0Because, of course this was the wonderful German director, who amongst many films (Paris Texas, Buena Vista Social Club and so on, and so on) made the truly inspirational The Salt of the Earth, which examined the work of the photographer Sebastiao Salgado.<\/p>\n

That’s him as a young man. He has an ‘eye’.<\/p>\n

Loved the whole experience.<\/p>\n

Btw, I was taking pics with my phone and wasn’t on it to the exclusion of everything else!!!<\/p>\n

That’s all for now, but thank you again for your kind thoughts about anxiety and over-worrying about really trivial things. \u00a0We shouldn’t but we do. We are only human after all.<\/p>\n
