Why? Because it’s my wedding dress!!!<\/p>\n Yes, I got married on the 31st August 1974 in Camberwell Green registry office at the ripe old age of age of 28, so I’m …. older now!<\/p>\n And the reason I got the dress out is that there’s a link up at Catherine Summers blog Not Dressed As Lamb<\/a> for those of us mad enough to have kept our wedding dresses. \u00a0Mind you, I wonder how many of the link up participants can say they’ve been married for over 40 years!<\/p>\n I see I’ve always had a pointy nose and chin, and I had a problem hiding my bra on the day, like I did with this photo below.<\/p>\n Here’s a great photo of the newly weds\u00a0and my parents. \u00a0Just look at my mother’s frock, which was in that fabric crimpelene, which everyone of her age-group wore.<\/p>\n Mr Frugalfashionshopper<\/em> is a bit embarrased at the size of his tie!<\/p>\n Here’s another photo of the happy couple.<\/p>\n I was obviously wearing heels then, which I can’t nowadays – I’d simply fall over.<\/p>\n Also, although I’m still quite slim these days there are a few lumpy bits some of which you can’t see because I positioned my arms in their bat wing sleeves, just so. And is that my spine curving over a bit – hmm. \u00a0Must do my yoga more often – annoying how one stops doing the exercises and yoga regularly and you just know you should.<\/p>\n Actually I was really surprised being able to get into the dress, (which I think in today’s sizes would be a UK size 10). \u00a0Anyway, to thank Mr Frugalfashionshopper<\/em> for the photos\u00a0I made us a pot of tea, got out the cake and we had a great giggle over our memories of that day!<\/p>\n Have you kept your wedding dress?
