Up to London again, this time to the Mole Clinic for my annual skin check.  Link here for details.  I like the thoroughness of the examination and the time given to looking at every part of your body except your

Had another birthday recently – 72 now. I asked myself how did that happen! Well, it’s just something you cannot escape.  The years roll by and there you are – you’re over 70! I do think turning 70 is crunch

Hello again I thought I’d have some fun and answer some questions that are going round the blogosphere (started with the Blended Blog, I believe).  Look, I read this stuff so you don’t have to!  But rather like another blogger

A new you this year?  Or is it more about maintenance and preserving the old(er) you!

As you know, I’ve hinted a few times that I’m not particularly on top form these days. That’s partly due to a virus I had, and partly to not taking a fitness class – for months – and walking really

    A good news story!

Hello everyone In between dump runs and trips to the local charity shops (to off-load rather than buy) I also went to the NHS Skin Department.  And btw, thanks so much for all your comments and good wishes. I truly

The body positive – and negative

I’m writing this post to challenge you all to be alert and vigilant in keeping that body of yours in a good state of health.  Which I’m sure you are, and there’s no need to say that.  Live in the

Hair Part III Tips to remove that unwanted hair

I’m in my 70th year – so is age just another number?

    Checked-jacket

I’ve just written a guest blog for Maddy at Home (being published late Thursday) where I say that most of the time I ignore my age. But let’s look at this in more depth. For instance, I see Helen Mirren

A few maintenance things I do

After my last post someone said to me, ‘you could stain your legs’, and described how her mother used tea, and then a brown pencil to imitate the back seam of those old-fashioned stockings. Wow, that was an evocative glimpse

Summer has arrived – some thoughts on skin protection

    Red shoes

Summer is not my favourite season. Why? Ok, it’s all about my skin, and exposing said skin. The day I wrote this blog post it was cloudy, grey and raining, and a bit cooler, and I went ‘yippee I can

    About Me

My name is Penny, I am 78 years old and I live in Lewes, East Sussex. My reasons for writing a fashion blog is that I have built up a great wardrobe on very little money mainly because I buy from charity shops.

So my blog will feature the clothes I have found since I retired, and the clothes that I continue to find in my local charity shops. From time to time I will also comment on issues around women and ageing.
