I’m house-sitting again!

I’m house-sitting again!

Hello everyone I’m back house-sitting again in Lewes and have been there for a week now, and how nice it is to do a bit of gardening in that wild garden of my daughter’s and get that sense of satisfaction after a few hours work outside in good weather.  Also I

My first visit to an exhibition!

My first visit to an exhibition!

Oh wow!  This was our first visit to an exhibition since November 2019. I’ve felt so starved of my cultural hits, which I just took for granted, you know, that visiting museums, art galleries and exhibitions was my way of life and that’s how I behaved. But hey, last week

Two dresses for the beach and a top that came free with a coffee pot!

Hi everyone Apologies for not writing a Frugalfashionshopper post for some time. Life got in the way! I went to see my aunt in Oxfordshire and stayed a couple of nights with my daughter in Lewes again, but I haven’t been idle in the writing department as I’ve written many

Distractions, brain fog and ways to be positive

Distractions, brain fog and ways to be positive

Hello again If you thought that the last post I put up was a little thin, apologies, I have been quite distracted these past few weeks. First of all, I took a couple of weeks to write a 3000+ word piece for My Other Blog. New followers I need to

Suddenly it’s Summer!

Suddenly it’s Summer!

Hello everyone It’s almost mid-May and up to a few days ago I was still wearing socks and long-sleeved winter woolies and sleeping under a winter duvet.  Last week we had frosts in the morning – it’s been so unseasonably cold here in the UK. And yet it’ll be June

Decisions, decisions for a move (or two) that was right for us!

Decisions, decisions for a move (or two) that was right for us!

Hello everyone How are things with you? Good I hope. We’re fine and I’ll say more about my state of mind at the end of the month, but for now, I am going to revisit the major decision we made to move to housing for the over-65s. This has been

A tale of gardens and gardening plus the two dresses from Emmaus

Hi everyone How are you all? Well, I hope and having a few outings and visits from family and friends? We are still being very cautious. I actually went into a supermarket for something I forgot to get via my online delivery but I’m not going to make a habit

Summer clothes? We mix it up in the UK!

Summer clothes? We mix it up in the UK!

Hello again We have been a little bit more adventurous. You have to live and enjoy life so we visited our daughter on Sunday, and next Sunday we will be going to friends for a Sunday lunch. That will be quite daring for us and, gosh, am I looking forward

Are you wearing all white?

Are you wearing all white?

Hello again Apparently wearing an all-white outfit is the latest in thing in fashion circles, say the fashion journos, and who am I to argue with this. Did you know that this wearing of white is meant to be a homage to Wimbledon, which I am so sad to be

Is shopping going to change from traipsing around the shops to online?

Is shopping going to change from traipsing around the shops to online?

Hello everyone The charity shop just around the corner from me has reopened, but have I gone in it?  No, and I won’t until the number of UK cases and deaths per day go significantly down, as in, far, far further down than our government trumpets at its daily nonsensical

About Me

My name is Penny, I am 76 years old and I live in Lewes, East Sussex. My reasons for writing a fashion blog is that I have built up a great wardrobe on very little money mainly because I buy from charity shops.

So my blog will feature the clothes I have found since I retired, and the clothes that I continue to find in my local charity shops. From time to time I will also comment on issues around women and ageing.

Penny,
