Is this the best of the three dresses?

Up to London again, this time to the Mole Clinic for my annual skin check.  Link here for details.  I like the thoroughness of the examination and the time given to looking at every part of your body except your scalp. And a big hooray as nothing found, which is

A close look at health, wellbeing and just having fun – as the years roll by!

Had another birthday recently – 72 now. I asked myself how did that happen! Well, it’s just something you cannot escape.  The years roll by and there you are – you’re over 70! I do think turning 70 is crunch time.  Listen, when I reached my 60s I felt absolutely

A good news story!

A good news story!

Hello everyone In between dump runs and trips to the local charity shops (to off-load rather than buy) I also went to the NHS Skin Department.  And btw, thanks so much for all your comments and good wishes. I truly hope I’ve alerted some of you to get your skin

The body positive – and negative

I’m writing this post to challenge you all to be alert and vigilant in keeping that body of yours in a good state of health.  Which I’m sure you are, and there’s no need to say that.  Live in the moment, love your body but be observant and attentive out

I’m in my 70th year – so is age just another number?

I’m in my 70th year – so is age just another number?

I’ve just written a guest blog for Maddy at Home (being published late Thursday) where I say that most of the time I ignore my age. But let’s look at this in more depth. For instance, I see Helen Mirren has been interviewed in Saturday’s Guardian Weekend about life, the

Summer has arrived – some thoughts on skin protection

Summer has arrived – some thoughts on skin protection

Summer is not my favourite season. Why? Ok, it’s all about my skin, and exposing said skin. The day I wrote this blog post it was cloudy, grey and raining, and a bit cooler, and I went ‘yippee I can wear my leggings and cover up my legs, woo hoo,

Physical fitness and me!

Physical fitness and me!

There are times, you know, when I do more exercise in my head than in actuality. If you asked me a couple of weeks ago how much exercise I did, I’d be saying ‘oh, I go to seniors gym and do a yoga session once a week’. But do I?

My skin sorted plus I’m searching for a fabulous winter coat!

Last week I had my two miniscule skin cancers zapped – all good, and OK now. You remember I wrote about this in February, when I went to London and treated myself to the Isabella Blow exhibition, after going to the Mole Clinic for a skin examination. And no, the

A trip to London: a style icon observed and my skin examined

I went to London, Wednesday last, to an exhibition on the style icon and muse Isabella Blow.  Not a particularly brilliant day weather-wise.  For those of you reading the blog outside the UK, we don’t have hurricanes here – well hardly ever – but I’m amending the blog since I

About Me

My name is Penny, I am 73 years old and I live in Brighton, East Sussex. My reasons for writing a fashion blog is that I have built up a great wardrobe on very little money mainly because I buy from charity shops.

So my blog will feature the clothes I have found since I retired, and the clothes that I continue to find in my local charity shops. From time to time I will also comment on issues around women and ageing.

Penny,
