Lockdown winter wear – time for something different!

Lockdown winter wear – time for something different!

Hi everyone Hope you’re continuing to be OK, safe and well. We’re fine and doing the same old stuff and just hanging in there until we get our vaccine, which in the UK seems to be a bit of a post-code lottery with some areas streets ahead in the numbers

What are you wearing for Christmas?

What are you wearing for Christmas?

Hi everyone Maybe I should be doing this post next week, but deciding what to wear on Christmas Day is a perennial dilemma. There are so many articles and blogs telling one what to wear and it seems no different this year. And of course there’s always the Christmas jumper

Brr, it’s cold outside! Let’s look at coats!

Hello everyone Brr! We are currently having several days of damp, cold weather with temperatures down to freezing. And it’s the kind of cold that gets into the bones, plus on the seafront if there’s a north wind as well, it’s brrrrrrr!  Look at this. That was a chilly walk

Ageing well

Ageing well

Hi everyone How are things with you?  I’ll have more to say about how England is coping with a reduction in Lockdown Version 2.0 and a consequent move to a ‘tiered’ approach to the pandemic at the end of the month. For now, in the middle of November with the

A coat and a skirt bought just before lockdown

Hello everyone Here we go again, back in lockdown. How are you feeling about this?  My heart goes out to those who have lost their jobs or near to losing them, but personally, I’ve got so used to not doing all that much that really, it hasn’t made much impact

Skirts, skirts, skirts!

Hi everyone As you all know, separates are my thing. I simply adore skirts and as a result have very few dresses. In fact, recently I counted the skirts I have in my wardrobe and there are 25 of them, and that’s not counting the ones I have put away

About Me

My name is Penny, I am 74 years old and I live in Brighton, East Sussex. My reasons for writing a fashion blog is that I have built up a great wardrobe on very little money mainly because I buy from charity shops.

So my blog will feature the clothes I have found since I retired, and the clothes that I continue to find in my local charity shops. From time to time I will also comment on issues around women and ageing.

Penny,
