What do we think about when we think of ageing?

Hi everyone I shall be changing my details in my bio again, and this time it’s my age. Yes, last week I turned 76 – how did that happen? I had a wonderful day as, because of the Platinum Jubilee my birthday on June 2nd was a Bank holiday, so

The late (as usual) end-of-month review – January 2022

Hi everyone Many apologies I’m late as usual but this time I’ve got a very good excuse as I’ve posted not one but two blogs on My Other Blog and replied to the commenters. The first is all about those ‘gatherings’ at No10, with the second an update on the

Another coat – surely not!

Another coat – surely not!

Hi everyone Yes, I know, why do that? Why buy yet another coat? Well, the thing is, as I said in my last post, coats are my go-to item to make a statement. This is because since the pandemic I don’t have the same opportunity to dress up what with

Another coat – surely not! Well….

Hello everyone There will  be more about this at the end of the month but today (Monday 29th March) some of the severe restrictions we’ve been living under since Christmas are being removed, and we can now visit other people and sit in their gardens – three cheers to that! I

It’s time to get out those Spring jackets!

It’s time to get out those Spring jackets!

It’s mid-March, which is about the time we get very mixed weather here in the UK. Sometimes it’s freezing and when I read of other bloggers who live in the northern hemisphere having temperatures reaching 70F (that’s 21C to us and a warm mid-Summer’s temperature) I just marvel as it’s

Lockdown Diaries – February 2021

Lockdown Diaries – February 2021

Hi everyone Phew, bit of a challenging week last week as I was recovering from tripping and falling hard on my face, oops a daisy as they say. I was fine, albeit a bit shocked so no need to worry, but my neck is a bit stiff so haven’t done

Another coat? Yes, and it’s colour? Yellow or maybe mustard!

Hello everyone Over 15 million people are now vaccinated in the UK, apparently that’s 86% of all the over-70s. The 15 million are the people in the four top priority groups and the vaccination programme has now moved on to people aged 65 to 69.  More about all of that

This and that and a coat that reminds me of happy days to come!

Hi everyone How’s life treating you?  It was really cold (for the UK) last week and I wrapped up and layered with thick woollen tops, thick leggings plus a woollen skirt and socks, and I wore my outdoor furry boots indoors as our flat is hard to keep warm. The

Brr, it’s cold outside! Let’s look at coats!

Hello everyone Brr! We are currently having several days of damp, cold weather with temperatures down to freezing. And it’s the kind of cold that gets into the bones, plus on the seafront if there’s a north wind as well, it’s brrrrrrr!  Look at this. That was a chilly walk

A coat and a skirt bought just before lockdown

Hello everyone Here we go again, back in lockdown. How are you feeling about this?  My heart goes out to those who have lost their jobs or near to losing them, but personally, I’ve got so used to not doing all that much that really, it hasn’t made much impact

About Me

My name is Penny, I am 76 years old and I live in Lewes, East Sussex. My reasons for writing a fashion blog is that I have built up a great wardrobe on very little money mainly because I buy from charity shops.

So my blog will feature the clothes I have found since I retired, and the clothes that I continue to find in my local charity shops. From time to time I will also comment on issues around women and ageing.

Penny,
