Lockdown diaries – 31 January 2021 and more about African fashion

Hi everyone Here we are with another month done and dusted. I don’t know about you but I think this month has been one of the worst of this pandemic. We were all so pleased to move on from 2020 and most of us greeted the new year with delight,

Up to London – for good news and good views!

Hi there After several months of sorting out the new flat we found time to go up to London for some exhibitions and my annual skin check at The Mole Clinic, which, btw, is not part of the NHS but I think the price worth it as I get a

Meeting a like-minded blogger at the Mary Quant Exhibition

Gail of Is This Mutton has already said that one of the best things about blogging is meeting fellow fashion bloggers and she is so right. Yes, it was last Saturday when we met to look at the Mary Quant exhibition, but we also spent much of the time talking

We had hot weather for four days – back to cooler and quite windy weather now!

Hello again I’ve had a busy few days over Easter which was glorious for the UK. We had hot weather, which was lovely. I don’t usually like hot weather mainly because it doesn’t suit me (Sottish genes) and I’m suspicious of the heat anyway (more about that in the next

My new top – I wear it a lot!

A couple of weeks ago I bought a top in the Martlets Hospice charity shop in Lewes. My word, it’s a keeper. I’ve worn it and worn it. Here it is. It’s a Boden top and cost £5.99 – that’s about right for Lewes. I’m wearing the top over a

What a great day

What a great day

I think there’s been something about blue Monday? Apparently this so-called blue day was Monday, January 21st. Some psychologist invented the term after coming up with a formula for the most depressing day of the year when people feel depressed and at their lowest ebb. Really? Look, life is tough

Living life to the full!

Living life to the full!

Hello again Sorry, been very busy with this and that, so there wasn’t a post last week. Well, there wasn’t here, but I did put a post on My Other Blog. The thing is, I hold strong views on Brexit (nope), refugees (we, as in the worldwide community, are not

A trip to London gets you thinking!

A trip to London gets you thinking!

Hello again! I don’t know about you, but I couldn’t live a quiet life in the country.  I tried it once. No, it’s not where I like living!  More than anything else what bothered me was the getting into a car for everything.  I like the  proximity of the city

About Me

My name is Penny, I am 74 years old and I live in Brighton, East Sussex. My reasons for writing a fashion blog is that I have built up a great wardrobe on very little money mainly because I buy from charity shops.

So my blog will feature the clothes I have found since I retired, and the clothes that I continue to find in my local charity shops. From time to time I will also comment on issues around women and ageing.

Penny,
