Are you getting ready for the cooler weather?

Actually, this is not a good post to put up now, as apparently it’s going to get warmer in the UK this coming week! And I’ve only gone and put away my summer clothes, including all my linen dresses – it can’t be that hot, surely! Anyway, here are two

It’s summertime – what to wear?

It’s summertime – what to wear?

Hello everyone As I expect you all know, there’s a heatwave in the UK and, apparently, around the world.  Not entirely sure I’m happy with the continuous sun, although I remember that in the winter I said to myself that I absolutely must not complain about the weather in the

Out and about in London – plus here’s that Privacy Policy!

Hi everyone This is my first of three planned trips to London. We had such a great day on Wednesday. We went to the Victoria & Albert museum to see the exhibition, ‘Ocean Liners: Speed and Style‘ and what an unexpected delight it was too. It’s on only until 17th June

Hatwalk 30 – May 2018

This is all about the weather we’ve had in the UK, which apparently is going to change for the better the latter part of this week and the next, which is why I’m posting this now as the clothes here will seem all wrong if posted next week.  Gosh, to

An update on the fitness thing

An update on the fitness thing

This blog has always been more than just the charity shop shopping and the clothes I wear.  It’s also about women and ageing, and how we can age well and all the positive things we can do to be healthy and (yes, I like this word) comfortable as we age.

Hatwalk 29 – April 2018

Another post on wearing hats around town. I know some of you say that you can’t wear hats but I think everyone can (especially when it’s the winter!) and the way to start with hat wearing is with a beret, which, I think, suits every type of face.  So here

Cruising around Spain

Cruising around Spain

Hello everyone I’m back and the flat is festooned in washing, it’ll take me a week to get straight. We had a great time and loved nearly everything about the holiday, but tbh, it’s rare for a holiday to be totally perfect and like a curate’s egg this cruise was

Hatwalk 28 – March 2018

It’s some time since I called a post ‘Hatwalk’. To those of you who are new to this blog, my Hatwalk posts are written because on the first of the month, Judith Boyd of Style Crone has a sharing session called Hat Attack, which I usually join (here’s the link)

Jeans and slacks and pants for Spring

Jeans and slacks and pants for Spring

Hi I’m a skirts and dresses kind of person.  Skirts more than anything – I just love them and the dressier the better.  I don’t think I look as good in jeans and slacks, but I’ve been wanting to buy a couple of pairs of jeans for some time now,

Living the Life More Fabulous!

Living the Life More Fabulous!

Hello dear friends and thank you so much for your good wishes and thoughts about the anxiety I had (which I think a lot of us suffer from) before travelling. Because, of course, on the actual day I was fine, and I had a great time in London. And where

About Me

My name is Penny, I am 73 years old and I live in Brighton, East Sussex. My reasons for writing a fashion blog is that I have built up a great wardrobe on very little money mainly because I buy from charity shops.

So my blog will feature the clothes I have found since I retired, and the clothes that I continue to find in my local charity shops. From time to time I will also comment on issues around women and ageing.

Penny,
