It’s that time of the year again!

It’s that time of the year again!

Did you have a good Christmas?  I did, but gosh, if you think I look a bit tired in the pics below, I don’t mind admitting that cooking and hosting the Christmas feast is a tad fatiguing – plus I’m just about getting towards the end of the 3-week cold

Season’s Greetings to you all

Hi everyone Here’s wishing you Season’s Greeting and all the very best for 2018.  And I truly hope you’re all sitting down for a coffee every now and then, rather than working too hard over that one day!  Which, if you’re a child, is a wonderful day.  Do you remember

Have I got news for you! All about the blog and my shopping bargain of the year!

Hello everyone Apologies for not posting earlier but I’ve got the cold that’s currently going around the UK and am firing on one cylinder rather than, is it four?  My brain is so befuddled, I can’t think of the right number! Anyway, I was going to do a post on

Hatwalk 27 – December 2017

This post is dedicated to a hat I bought recently.  For those of you who are new to the blog, I think you might have gathered that I like hats!  And note, the post goes under the title of ‘Hatwalk” because I totally adore another blogger (of a similar age)

Shopping in a charity shop – here’s how!

Shopping in a charity shop – here’s how!

Hmm, just read an article on going beyond Black Friday and caring for your clothes to prevent waste and the excessive buying that is the pattern for the next few weeks.  And for those over the pond, did you realise Black Friday wasn’t a thing for us in the UK

Cold weather gear for walking into town

Cold weather gear for walking into town

Winter used to be my favourite season, but not so much now, however, I do like cold weather clothes.  And as the UK it’s getting just a bit cooler, I’ve begun to get out my winter clothes. I love wearing winter woollies!  But before you say I couldn’t wear wool

Up to London again!

Up to London again!

Hello everyone I don’t know about you but I love living near a vibrant city like London.  In my head, I think I go up to it quite a lot. In actuality we hadn’t visited the capital since the summer. So on a whim, off we went, and using an

Did the de-cluttering go well? Yes. And then again, no!

Did the de-cluttering go well? Yes. And then again, no!

I’m good at de-cluttering. Or so I thought! Because I got rid of sack loads of clothes before I moved to our new flat, and reduced the number of my hats by half.  Mind you, I think the number of hats I still possess are probably higher than the average!

My love for a certain colour – yellow!

My love for a certain colour – yellow!

As you know, I love a pop of colour and especially a particular shade of yellow.  And it’s not a pale lemon yellow either.  No, what I love is that in-your-face yellow. The kind that knocks you out and makes you go, wow! In fact, I love the colour so

About Me

My name is Penny, I am 73 years old and I live in Brighton, East Sussex. My reasons for writing a fashion blog is that I have built up a great wardrobe on very little money mainly because I buy from charity shops.

So my blog will feature the clothes I have found since I retired, and the clothes that I continue to find in my local charity shops. From time to time I will also comment on issues around women and ageing.
