The Back-to-Lockdown Diary – 30 September 2020

Hello everyone I thought I’d start by saying that I write this diary not as a blow-by-blow account of daily happenings, instead this is more about my thoughts on the current situation, the reason being, I think it important to capture the essence of how we are all coping during

Decisions, decisions for a move (or two) that was right for us!

Hello everyone How are things with you? Good I hope. We’re fine and I’ll say more about my state of mind at the end of the month, but for now, I am going to revisit the major decision we made to move to housing for the over-65s. This has been

Secondhand September? Maybe it’s more of a case of shopping my closet!

Hello again! Well, I went ahead, got down my Autumn/Fall clothes, put away my flimsiest Summer frocks and skirts, and all of that just in time for some warmer weather over the next few days! Not to worry, I think it was time to have a look at what I

(Semi) lockdown diaries – 31 August 2020

It’s the end of the month again so here’s another round-up of thoughts on these unusual times. As you can see from the title of this post, I now see myself as being in a semi-lockdown situation, because I have moved a little on my hard-line position. Wearing a mask

There’s a change in the weather – so do you need different clothes?

Sleep perchance to dream – could you last week?

Hello everyone As I keep saying, we Brits are such wimps when it comes to our weather.  For most of the UK population, last week was pretty dire as parts of our country had over 34C (93.2F) for 6 consecutive days, with the nights not much cooler and, don’t forget,

About Me

My name is Penny, I am 74 years old and I live in Brighton, East Sussex. My reasons for writing a fashion blog is that I have built up a great wardrobe on very little money mainly because I buy from charity shops.

So my blog will feature the clothes I have found since I retired, and the clothes that I continue to find in my local charity shops. From time to time I will also comment on issues around women and ageing.

Penny,
