Mid-season wear for cool days

Hello everyone Well, yesterday in the south of England it was a cold, cold day, brrr, and it’s May! Hmm! Fortunately I hadn’t put away all my cold weather clothes so I wore leggings plus a mid-length charity shop skirt and a yellow wooly jumper with a long sleeved, roll-neck

Where’s the time gone? It’s May already!

Hello everyone Well it’s May now and we should be fully into warm weather and sun, but it’s been bit grey these last few days where we live (southern England) and quite cold, so I’m still wearing warm woolies like this one, which I think is a really lovely bright

I’m warmly wrapped up in my favourite place!

Hi everyone How are you all?  Weather good where you are?  I read of bloggers across the pond who currently have weather in the 90s! That’s, of course Fahrenheit, which would be 32C in our part of the world.  I grew up with Fahrenheit measuring temperatures (how many of you

Two skirts and another update on the move!

Two skirts and another update on the move!

Hi everyone I hope you all had a good Easter. Actually is it me or has it become a tad commercialised these days with all the exhortations to buy Easter eggs and other goodies?  Who remembers when the bakeries opened on Good Friday morning (when everything else was shut) and

Two new raincoats and more news of the move!

Hello everyone We continue to unpack and things look a little better. It’s getting there as Mr F often likes to say. And that’s the view from our bedroom window, which is quite a contrast to the urban view we had in the last place of a block of flats

Hello everyone!

Hello everyone! This is very short post to let you all know that although we moved out of our flat in Brighton on March 11th, we only moved into our new abode in Lewes yesterday (Monday April 4th). That was nearly a month of cleaning and painting walls (white) and

The (as usual) late end-of-the-month review. February 2022

Hi everyone I apologise, late again, but life got in the way! More about that in another post, I think. Anyway, what a month!  It began with me at the tail end of having a series of viruses (not Covid) which I think I got from my lovely new grandson

My new skirt!

Hello everyone I hope you’re all keeping well and not too anxious considering the circumstances in the east of Europe. I have written a further post on My Other Blog on the situation, which as you know you access via the icon. And in the meantime, my skirt arrived!  Yay!!!

It’s a buy-nothing month, plus a few memories of my nursing life!

Hi everyone Many apologies but life, the universe and grandchildren got in the way!  But here I am with another post.  And with no new charity shop finds, because I have decided to buy nothing this month, I shall shop my closet as they say. Here’s an example, it’s a

The late (as usual) end-of-month review – January 2022

Hi everyone Many apologies I’m late as usual but this time I’ve got a very good excuse as I’ve posted not one but two blogs on My Other Blog and replied to the commenters. The first is all about those ‘gatherings’ at No10, with the second an update on the

About Me

My name is Penny, I am 75 years old and I live in Lewes, East Sussex. My reasons for writing a fashion blog is that I have built up a great wardrobe on very little money mainly because I buy from charity shops.

So my blog will feature the clothes I have found since I retired, and the clothes that I continue to find in my local charity shops. From time to time I will also comment on issues around women and ageing.

Penny,
