Getting your skin checked out – it’s important!

Getting your skin checked out – it’s important!

Hi everyone Did you know that May is Skin Cancer Awareness Week in the UK and it is also World Skin Cancer and Melanoma Awareness Month? As you know we went up to London last Wednesday and that was absolutely great as, yes, it as the first time since November

Two skirts and another update on the move!

Two skirts and another update on the move!

Hi everyone I hope you all had a good Easter. Actually is it me or has it become a tad commercialised these days with all the exhortations to buy Easter eggs and other goodies?  Who remembers when the bakeries opened on Good Friday morning (when everything else was shut) and

Skirts – Part 3! With a detour around some necessary maintenance!

Hi everyone Well, I did say it was the month of the skirt and so it has been through thick and thin and a lot of coughing, now over, thank goodness!  Yes, I managed to put up a different skirt on Instagram every day for 3 weeks – phew!  I’m

Hi everyone Well here we are in a new year. It’s 2022 and no, I am not doing a post on New Year’s resolutions. It’s not that these resolutions are so last year (ha!) it’s just I don’t think they help.  Because we all want to improve and be the

Those bones – how are yours?

Hi everyone I had my bone scan a few weeks ago. I’m meant to have them every two years, but this time what with ‘you know what’ it was three years since my last scan.  Do you have regular bone scans? I have had these scans for years and have

Eating to Beat Disease

Hello everyone As you know from last week’s post I take part in the Zoe Covid Study.  Well, what’s interesting is that this company is first and foremost a nutrition and gut research body and they are currently in partnership with someone called Dr William Li (who is based in

Health & Wellbeing – reading things up and actually doing the things that are suggested!

Hello everyone How are you all?  Well I hope!  Here in  the UK we’ve got some sun and warmth at last so that does really lift the spirits and warms the joints! Yes, I need that warmth on the body as I’ve got arthritis in my right hip, which is

Ageing well and then again ageing not so well

Ageing well and then again ageing not so well

I had a significant birthday 2 weeks ago.  I turned 75 and no, I didn’t say how did that happen, as I’m all too aware of the passing years. Reaching 75 years of age feels significant, it is, I think, significant and actually on the day I woke up feeling

Here’s to better things to come!

Hi everyone Got my vaccination done last Wednesday and, my word, the whole roll-out of vaccines in the UK is an incredibly efficient operation, and that, of course, is because it was not outsourced to an expensive private sector contractor but organised by our wonderful NHS. And what’s more they

Ageing well

Hi everyone How are things with you?  I’ll have more to say about how England is coping with a reduction in Lockdown Version 2.0 and a consequent move to a ‘tiered’ approach to the pandemic at the end of the month. For now, in the middle of November with the

About Me

My name is Penny, I am 75 years old and I live in Lewes, East Sussex. My reasons for writing a fashion blog is that I have built up a great wardrobe on very little money mainly because I buy from charity shops.

So my blog will feature the clothes I have found since I retired, and the clothes that I continue to find in my local charity shops. From time to time I will also comment on issues around women and ageing.

Penny,
