It’s 11 days to the move!

It’s 11 days to the move!

I continue to declutter and that includes pieces of furniture as well as clothes, and I will be packing my suitcase for the cruise this week. Other odds and ends will be discarded as well. I do love the challenge of a good clearout! I’m finding that as I age

This and that and a swishing party planned – for the future!!!

Hi I don’t know if this happens elsewhere but here in the Uk whenever the media publishes an article on the older population (as in from 65+) it is usually accompanied by a photo of either a sad old woman looking out of the window or a pair of hands

That was a week that was – but moving on!

Hello everyone And thank you for the comments re: MrF and the concern you showed.  His follow-up clinic was briskly reassuring and we move on from there.  Meanwhile, having at the time been Mrs Competence personified 24 hours later I crashed and didn’t sleep well for several days. I too

I have very few shoes but I forgot to say I have 27 hats!

Hello again And a big thank you to all of you who commented on my last post, which seemed to generate quite a lot of interest.  Btw, I miscounted. I have 12 pairs of shoes rather than 11! So, having said that one of the reasons for the low number

Meeting a like-minded blogger at the Mary Quant Exhibition

Gail of Is This Mutton has already said that one of the best things about blogging is meeting fellow fashion bloggers and she is so right. Yes, it was last Saturday when we met to look at the Mary Quant exhibition, but we also spent much of the time talking

Back from my short break in France with some great memories and a couple of great buys!

Hello everyone I’m back and busily working my way through piles of washing and loads of emails. We had a wonderful time catching up with friends who live in France; one for 30 years and the others 15 years. We flew to Toulouse and stayed with Chris who, 45 years

What hat should I wear next week?

Hello everyone We’re taking a short break in France (Toulouse and Lot valley) and I’m packing today.  I’ve got my clothes ready but it’s the hat I’m dithering about.  Which one to take, as the weather in France could vary between wet, dry, warm and cold. So should it be:

What a great day

What a great day

I think there’s been something about blue Monday? Apparently this so-called blue day was Monday, January 21st. Some psychologist invented the term after coming up with a formula for the most depressing day of the year when people feel depressed and at their lowest ebb. Really? Look, life is tough

Looking back, looking forward!

Looking back, looking forward!

Hello everyone First of all – here’s wishing you all the very best for 2019! Well, the new year is here so have you made any New Year resolutions?  Actually I haven’t, because I think I’m done with those as I often make some vague (albeit sincere) promises at the

About Me

My name is Penny, I am 76 years old and I live in Lewes, East Sussex. My reasons for writing a fashion blog is that I have built up a great wardrobe on very little money mainly because I buy from charity shops.

So my blog will feature the clothes I have found since I retired, and the clothes that I continue to find in my local charity shops. From time to time I will also comment on issues around women and ageing.

Penny,
