Some bargains found!

Hello everyone There’s been a bit of an absence here.  It was just a busy, sociable, meeting friends kind of week, plus I posted on My Other Blog. Stuff (otherwise known as Brexit) is happening, or not happening, people, so read all about it there. I went to Pilates twice

The hat that belonged to my sister

The hat that belonged to my sister

Hello A few posts back someone mentioned the small wardrobe that she had when growing up, which is what I remember having, and my mother and father having. In fact my parents shared a small wooden wardrobe, and it was only when they reached their 70s that they had something

Hello everyone As promised I’m featuring a wonderful yellow coat I bought in a charity shop in Poole (Dorset, UK) which cost all of £5, I mean, when you see it, you’ll be amazed at the quality and, therefore, the price.  But first of all, thank you for all the

Hatwalk 33 – October 2018

It is so warm for the time of year here in the UK. Maybe next week it’s going to be cooler, but I’ve heard that one before.  Well let’s see, because although I should be enjoying the heat of the sun on my face, really i) this is not good

Are you getting ready for the cooler weather?

Actually, this is not a good post to put up now, as apparently it’s going to get warmer in the UK this coming week! And I’ve only gone and put away my summer clothes, including all my linen dresses – it can’t be that hot, surely! Anyway, here are two

Hatwalk 32 – September 2018

Hello again Here’s a short and sweet post to celebrate the fact I’m wearing contacts and eye makeup again – yay! And here’s a new hat bought from a charity shop for £10. I think that’s quite expensive for a hat that I’m not sure I’ll wear all the time

Shopping for fun and that adrenalin rush!

Shopping for fun and that adrenalin rush!

Hi everyone I felt I needed to get out of the flat for a bit, so went shopping and ‘looking’.  Much of my clothes shopping is done this way.  I look to see what trends there are in the fashion mags.  I look in various outlets (especially stores like Urban

Something to be proud of – and a big thank you!

Hey, I went to Pride last Saturday and stood in the heat and watched the Parade. The above pic was taken during the week on a quiet day in a back street, therefore, no crowds unlike Saturday. But, so proud of Pride and Brighton – it’s why I moved to

About Me

My name is Penny, I am 72 years old and I live in Brighton, East Sussex. My reasons for writing a fashion blog is that I have built up a great wardrobe on very little money mainly because I buy from charity shops.

So my blog will feature the clothes I have found since I retired, and the clothes that I continue to find in my local charity shops. From time to time I will also comment on issues around women and ageing.

Penny,
