ATTITUDES & AGE

Two skirts and another update on the move!

Two skirts and another update on the move!

Hi everyone I hope you all had a good Easter. Actually is it me or has it become a tad commercialised these days with all the exhortations to buy Easter eggs and other goodies?  Who remembers when the bakeries opened on Good Friday morning (when everything else was shut) and

More about last month’s no-buy effort and a reveal!

Hi everyone How are you all? I hope the events in Europe are not impacting on your mental health too much. I say that from the privilege of not being in Ukraine or any country embroiled in war. I find I have to ration my news watching and I don’t

This and that and a question – should I get this skirt?

This and that and a question – should I get this skirt?

Hi everyone Hope you’re all well and safe and if you’re in the UK I hope you battened down the hatches on Friday, and enjoyed (if that’s the right word) Storm Eunice and the wind from indoors. We had an interesting few hours in our top floor flat – we

Ageing well and then again ageing not so well

Ageing well and then again ageing not so well

I had a significant birthday 2 weeks ago.  I turned 75 and no, I didn’t say how did that happen, as I’m all too aware of the passing years. Reaching 75 years of age feels significant, it is, I think, significant and actually on the day I woke up feeling

Distractions, brain fog and ways to be positive

Hello again If you thought that the last post I put up was a little thin, apologies, I have been quite distracted these past few weeks. First of all, I took a couple of weeks to write a 3000+ word piece for My Other Blog. New followers I need to

Suddenly it’s Summer!

Suddenly it’s Summer!

Hello everyone It’s almost mid-May and up to a few days ago I was still wearing socks and long-sleeved winter woolies and sleeping under a winter duvet.  Last week we had frosts in the morning – it’s been so unseasonably cold here in the UK. And yet it’ll be June

Style? And how to get it sorted – or not!

Hello everyone Apologies for not writing a post for nearly two weeks.  Life just got in the way! I’ve been very busy and did a lot of stuff last week and this, with appointments to go here, there and everywhere, and hey, I had my hair cut!  Here I am

How did this happen?

How did this happen?

I’ll be 75 next birthday (in June) and I often think along the lines of How.Did.That.Happen, this ageing thing? Because it creeps up on you and then boom, it’s there! I’ve said this before, that when I was 40 I thought no different to a 30-yr-old, same when I was

Celebrating women everywhere, especially my mother!

Celebrating women everywhere, especially my mother!

Hi everyone And here’s to women around the world, happy International Women’s Day (which was actually 8 March). I see the theme this year is Choose to Challenge. Yes, that’s a good one, as I agree that we should challenge everything, or at the very least keep a critical and

Looking back, looking forward

Looking back, looking forward

Hello again I wonder if you’re like me, and find yourself saying, ‘when we can, we’ll go out to…….’ (fill in assorted details of different places and experiences). More about that wish in the next post as we might indeed be able to go to a restaurant in the UK

About Me

My name is Penny, I am 75 years old and I live in Lewes, East Sussex. My reasons for writing a fashion blog is that I have built up a great wardrobe on very little money mainly because I buy from charity shops.

So my blog will feature the clothes I have found since I retired, and the clothes that I continue to find in my local charity shops. From time to time I will also comment on issues around women and ageing.

Penny,
